Wade Alston has worked his way up through the ranks as a rescuer for the Little Island Life Saving Station to lighthouse keeper. He took the Keeper's position to be near Laura, the young woman he's loved from afar for years. Laura has been infatuated with Wade since school. She's waited and waited for him to ask to court her. In her family garden one night, he boldly speaks and she learns of his attraction to her. In turn, she hints at her own feelings for him. There's one problem!When the merchant ship her father is a sailor on wrecks off Little Island, she and her mother insist he's not dead. Wade has had the ship searched and confirmed all that could be rescued were, her father was not among them and no one was left onbaord. After refusing to take her and her mother to the ship and search again, Laura drugs him to get his cooperation knowing he will never forgive her, knowing she's likely losing the man she's desired all these years. She truly believes her father is alive and takes the risk.
The conflict in this well researched romance is strong and holds the reader's interest. Ghost Ships Cry is a fun, well paced story, excellent for a sunny afternoon.

Ghost Ships Cry grips the reader from the very first line and holds them captive with conspiracy, romance, humor, action, and suspense until the very end. Sparks fly as spunky heroine Laura tricks lightkeeper Wade into taking her aboard the Ghost ship by slipping opium into his tea. The story is fast paced and has a well constructed storyline as they search for her missing father and discover their long-held love for each other. The unique setting, featuring a lighthouse keeper and his rescue crew at the Little Island Life Saving Station in 1888 is both fresh and fascinating. The danger of the job breathes life into the story, as well as the vivid character emotions and creative descriptions. This is a sweet story and fantastic read! I'd recommend Ghost Ships Cry to everyone!
